Is that because Claude is inherently more thoughtful, or because my setup encouraged it to behave that way? Hard to say. What I do know is that without the skill loaded in, my earlier experience felt nowhere near as impressive as the internet made it sound. So if you’re planning to try Claude — and you already have a strong writing brief, workflow, or system prompt somewhere — move it over before forming an opinion.
Where Claude still feels behind, at least for me, is the surrounding product experience: the Chrome extension, the cross-device memory in Cowork, and some of the day-to-day usability details. Those are areas where ChatGPT feels much more polished and mature, and you notice the difference pretty quickly.
For now, I’m keeping both — especially because I still rely heavily on ChatGPT Atlas for browser-based work.

With ChatGPT, you usually need to manually add chats to a project to get similar behavior. It sounds small, but if you’re constantly opening new chats throughout the day, it adds up quickly.
Claude Cowork
Claude Cowork is Claude’s desktop agent. It can take actions across your computer, work through tasks, and integrate with your tools. If your workflow revolves around local folders and project files, you’ll probably get a lot of value from it.
In my case, most of my work happens inside apps like Superhuman, Linear, and Granola, so Cowork hasn’t felt life-changing yet.
